Artist Statement:
To me, a home is not just a physical structure - it is a space that houses memories and emotions. My parents recent move from my childhood home has made me think a lot about the importance of the places in which we live and how they impact and shape our lives. I created prints of five different houses that have had and will have an impact on my life. Additionally, I included imagery of family members, friends and myself that are linked to each house.
Through this process, I explored specific memories that I have from each house. In a way, this collection of images serves as an autobiography. It traces experiences and memories that have had a great impact on my life and the person I have become.
I invite the viewer to place themselves in the images and reflect upon the memories they have of the places they have lived. I would like the viewer to reflect on the impact those memories have had on their lives and consider the question, what do you make of it?
